In the past few years, we have seen an influx of insanely wide lenses, including 11mm, 10mm, and even 9mm options. With a careful approach, these lenses can provide a very unique look to your images. This great video review takes a look at such a lens, the Venus Optics Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL.

Coming to you from Christopher Frost Photography, this awesome video review takes a look at the new Venus Optics Laowa 11mm f/4.5 FF RL lens. Venus Optics is well known for making some very unique lenses, and while there are other 11mm options out there, the new Laowa lens looks to be quite affordable. It offers the following:

  • 19 cm minimum focus distance
  • Small size: 2.5 inches (6.3 cm) long and 8.9 oz (254 g)
  • Two aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements for improved sharpness and reduced chromatic aberrations and distortion
  • Accepts screw-on filters
  • 5-blade aperture that creates 10-point sunstars
  • Available in Leica M, Leica L, Sony FE, and Nikon Z mounts

No doubt, for landscape photographers, architectural shooters, or anyone else who wants to be able to add a rather unique look to their kit, the Laowa 11mm f/4.5 looks like an intriguing option. Check out the video above for Frost’s full thoughts.
